My wife and I are trying to switch to using all CFL's (or as many as we logically can) in house. To that end I put about a dozen in last night and in our den we have a light fixture that holds four bulbs. THis fixture is on a rheostat and when you turn it on the CFL's buzz zomething fierce. Has anyone else had a problem with CFL's buzzing? Is it because of the rheostat?

if you have a dimmer switch for your lighting fixture, they recommend that you use a CFL for use with dimmer, which are, of course, more dear. I am not sure if this is just marketing or it if really is better for dimmers, as I don't have any dimmer switches in my flat.
