Following on from today's blog post about 2swap, there is a global bookcrossing movement hpised at www.bookcrossing.com

bookcrossing is t let a book free into the wild, with a note, and allow serendipity to pick a new owner.

Just came across www.bookrabbit.com this morning it's a new social site that "dynamically connects readers, authors and publishers through the books they own." Shoppers at BookRabbit can upload photos of their bookshelves for viewing by the community at large, fostering comparison, interaction and—you guessed it—more shopping.

Have joined book-crossing and it looks brilliant, already taking part in a little local book exchange based at the local swimming pool in dundalk - bring a book or leave one behind, means there is always something to read while waiting for swimming lessons to end. Will spread word to make this part of book-crossing. On subject of second hand books did you know that here in Ireland over €1,000,000 of school books are landfilled each year.Avoid this waste and save money by visiting www.theschoolbookexchange.ie, brilliant website with all titles from curriculum available. got half of my daughters books there last year saved about €45 in the process and made a great friend in the mum who sold me the books, aim to do the same again this year.

The link in the last post is wrong - should probably be www.schoolbookexchange.ie
