They work. They last for ages. And in my experience, they leave your kit smelling like fresh air - not manufactured air scent, but actual fresh air.

I have to say I was skeptical, but I've been using them for a few years - they're particularly good on denims.

    & how eco are they?

I've been sensitive to chemicals since I was a kid (actually I was allergic then) - does anyone know what's actually in them & how environmentally friendly & people-friendly it really is?

Hmm.. interesting comments on the Treehugger...??
http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/05/ecoballs_ionized_oxygen.php Are they really made out of PVC?

Hi Layla, another alternative are soap pods a natural product from Nepal and North India which are derived from sustainable plantations paying proper wages. You can get more nfo on them from www.soapods.com

Yeah, I've tried the soap pods already! We have 'em at home... I like 'em cause there's no 'artificial' smell after washing with them!

Trouble is my Mom isn't super-satisfied with them.. The pods are allright for eg darker/greyish/brown-ish clothes that aren't that dirty... (or, the stains have to be removed in advance) So I was hoping for something else in addition to the pods, for a bit more strength...
