Edenbee

Reduce the energy my fridge uses.

Is there a harder working appliance in your kitchen than your fridge? Always there for you, even if you need a cold drink at 3am. The harder your fridge works, the more electricity it uses so make life easier on your big cool friend. Leaving freshly cooked food to cool before putting it away and making sure not to stuff your shelves to bursting point make it easier for your fridge to chill out, saving you money.

I fill up "empty space" with water bottles both for fridge & freezer. An added plus is that if you lose electricity, the ice bottles can keep a cooler cold for days & you have fresh water. Worked great during hurricane Ike here in Houston.

Apparently filling the empty spaces in the freezer with newspaper conserves energy.
